The Sage Colleges seek a Coordinator of Conferences and Events beginning immediately. Responsibilities of this full-time, 12 month administrative position include assisting in planning, scheduling, budgeting for events, setting up meetings and conferences and events for both the Albany and Troy campuses.

Qualifications: Associate's degree plus two years experience or the equivalent in experience, as well as experience with audio visual and computer equipment and MS Office are required. The successful candidate will have good communication and organizational skills.

Salary dependent on qualifications and experience; generous benefits package includes tuition waiver for employee and spouse at Sage After Work or Sage Graduate School; tuition waiver for dependent children at Russell Sage College, Sage College of Albany, or Sage After Work. COORDINATOR OF CONFERENCES AND EVENTS


REPORTS TO: Dean of Students

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Coordinator of Conferences and Events is specifically responsible for the following:

• Assisting in contract negotiation and preparation, scheduling and arranging logistical details of workshops, conferences, student activities, athletic events and all other functions on the Albany and Troy Campuses.

• Maintaining an atmosphere within the conferencing areas that is conducive to the learning process and attending to logistics which help conferences and meetings to succeed.

• Assisting in planning logistical support of the conference such as timing considerations, set-up configuration, and food service needs.

• Working with College groups to select available, appropriate facilities for events and assist in planning event logistics.

• Coordinating with appropriate staff regarding scheduled events so that cleaning and maintenance take place.

• Assisting with the scheduling of all College events, external and internal special events, on both campuses using the “Scheduler Plus” software program.

• Coordinating or assisting with special events for the Colleges, including physical space, planning, set-up logistics, A/V set-up (sound systems, LCD projectors, screens, TV, VCR, overheads) and food service.

• Conducting regular evaluations of services and events with conference clients to work toward improving services

• Training and developing student workers to be frontline responders for the campus community and conference clients.

* Preparing revenue and expenditure budgets for conferences

* Preparing bills for outside groups facilities and food service use and tracking accounts
payables

• Other related duties as may be assigned.
