The Provost is the college's "second in command" and is responsible for the institution when the president is not available. She serves as chief academic officer and works collaboratively with faculty, department chairs and deans to implement Sage's strategic plan, including a redesign of the curriculum. Kevin R. Stoner, Associate Provost for Assessment, Retention and Institutional Initiatives

In the spring of 2011, the position of Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs was replaced by that of a Associate Provost for Assessment, Retention and Institutional Initiatives. The Associate Provost will be responsible for chairing a retention team, spearheading a new at-risk student profile initiative, and providing leadership and support to Sage's efforts on assessment.
