BS in Environmental Science
You can help solve environmental problems such as global warming and air and water pollution by majoring in Environmental Science. You learn to think and act responsibly in an ever-changing and technologically challenging world. You can prepare for graduate study, for state or federal government employment, or for a private sector position in the environmental or a related field.

You will complete a senior research project and an internship usually working with Dr. Kathy Skinner, our environmental scientist. Students have worked on interesting projects at Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and New York State Museum.

Minor in Environmental Science
A Minor in Environmental Science is a competitive option for students who may want to combine the study of the environment with their major interest. A pre-law major and an Environmental Science minor is an excellent combination for a career in Environmental Law. Communications majors who minor in Environmental Science have many career options such as Information Directors for environmental groups, federal and state agencies, or private companies. A political science major combined with an Environmental Science minor, would qualify a graduate to participate in policy formation which will become increasingly important in the future. Combining a math major with an Environmental Science minor qualifies a student to fill a position in Environmental Modeling or Epidemiology. The possibilities are endless!
