Chemistry Programs

Currently enrolled or accepted Chemistry majors are eligible for the S-STEM scholarships! Rules and an application are available here.

Programs in Chemistry, offered through the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, are available to Russell Sage College students only. A Chemistry minor is also available. A major in chemistry can lead to a rewarding career in industry, research or teaching. Many graduates pursue advanced degrees in the subject. Students may choose the certified degree program, which is approved by the American Chemical Society. The ACS-Certified major may be tailored to meet the requirements for entrance into medical, dental or veterinary schools. Eligible students may complete their senior research project at INVEST. Students associated with INVEST can combine the study of Chemistry with Business and Entrepreneurship through choice of minor, or through the Master's in Business Administration at Sage Graduate School. Another program, which is non-certified, is more flexible and may be suitable for students interested in non-research oriented careers. Accelerated completion of the non-certified major is possible, with courses taken in the senior year counting toward both the B.S. and a graduate degree through Sage Graduate School (such as the Doctor of Physical Therapy).
