Current Research Interests

Applications of stereochemistry such as; the effects of structural modifications upon the rates of conformational processes, methods for inducing enantiomeric enrichment in chiral compounds, including enantioselective synthesis and complexation. Thermal molecular rearrangements such as [1,3] and [2,3] allylic rearrangements and allylic vs. vinylic double bond shifts. Atomic and group transfer, exchange and extrusion reactions involving atoms such as sulfur and selenium or groups such as carbenes and nitrenes. Organic chemistry of the Groups 15 (phosphorus, arsenic) and Group 16 (sulfur, selenium) elements, particularly the role of unstable intermediates such as thiosulfoxides and sulfilimines.

Current Advising Responsibilities
