Admission Procedures

We are now accepting applications for fall 2012 admission!

Because of the high demand of the program, the timing of all applications for The Sage ABA Certificate program shall be governed by these procedures. The ABA Certificate program commences in the spring of each year. Sage is currently accepting fifteen (15) students into the ABA Certificate program each fall and spring.

Important Dates for Fall ABA Certificate Program Admittance

  • By June 1: Each spring applicant to the ABA Certificate program is required to apply for and have all necessary documentation including a career goals statement, a resume, two (2) letters of recommendation and official transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate course work.
  • June 4 through June 8: Faculty will review and rank only fully completed applications.
  • The week of June 11: Applicants will be notified if accepted.
  • By July 1: Accepted applicants wishing to reserve their place in the cohort must provide deposit and candidate reply form by 11:59PM Eastern Standard Time.
  • The Week of July 9: Ranked wait listed students will be informed of acceptance if slots are still available.
  • By August 1: The ranked wait listed students who are accepted and wish to reserve their place in the cohort must provide their deposit and candidate reply form by 11:59PM Eastern Standard Time.
  • By August 7: All accepted students must register for spring courses.

  • The Week of November 15: Ranked wait listed students will be informed of acceptance if slots are still available.
  • By November 30: The ranked wait listed students who are accepted and wish to reserve their place in the cohort must provide their deposit and candidate reply form by 11:59PM Eastern Standard Time.
  • By December 10: All accepted students must register for spring courses.

Quick Facts

  • The ABA Certificate program only accepts students to begin in the spring semester of each academic year.
  • The ABA Certificate program is a lock-step program. This means that accepted students must register for classes in the exact order it has been laid out on their Program of Study.
  • Students will have a practicum or non-practicum track option.
  • To participate in the academic coursework, the candidate must meet all Technology Requirements.

Applicants for admission to the Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate program must meet the Sage Graduate School and Center for Applied Behavior Analysis admission requirements:

  • Official transcripts of ALL previous undergraduate and graduate study;
  • International students must submit a WES report if previous degrees were obtained outside of the United States. This requirement is in addition to official transcripts.
  • A masters degree in a related field
  • Two letters of reference
  • Satisfactory Career goals Statement
  • Current resume
  • Application fee

Once the completed application is submitted by the deadline, the Program Director may arrange for an online interview with the candidate. To participate in this online interview, the candidate is required to have a computer, connection to the internet, and a capability to hear voice and to deliver voice online.

Accepted applicants who meet all admission requirements will be admitted as regular graduate students. Those who do not fully meet the requirements may be admitted on a provisional basis if they show promise for success in the program.

Notice to Applicants & Candidates:

Services restricted to New York State licensed professionals, including licensed psychologists, cannot be rendered by program students or graduates unless: (a)they are licensed in New York State to provide such services, or (b) they provide those services in an exempt setting as salaried employees.
