US Students Visiting Sage: NAC&U Student Exchange Program
Welcome to the Student Exchange Program of the New American Colleges & Universities (NAC&U). Through this program, students have the option to study at another NAC&U school for one semester.
We invite NAC&U students to join us at The Sage Colleges, conveniently located on two campuses in New York's Capital Region and Tech Valley. On this page you will find information on studying at:
Russell Sage College
in historic downtown Troy, NY
Sage College of Albany
in the University Heights area of Albany, NY
Sage provides shuttle service between campuses each weekday from 8 am to 10 pm and weekends between 3 pm and 10 pm. With this, students can take courses on either campus and participate in activities on both campuses.
Students are welcome to enroll in any courses offered at the Colleges, provided all prerequisites are satisfied. While course titles differ between colleges, we will help you to assess your preparation for any upper-level course (those with 300 or 400 course numbers).
The complete course catalog for each college are available at http://catalog.sage.edu.
(Select the current Catalog for the college you plan to attend.)
Visiting NAC&U students can earn up to 15 credits per semester.
Internship opportunities abound in the area. Being the state capital, Albany provides access to the many layers of New York State government as well as non-profit entities. We are also home to numerous cultural internship possibilities including the New York State Museum and smaller art galleries. The Russell Sage campus is home to the Sage Theatre Institute. NAC&U students must work with appropriate staff to set up internships prior to their arrival on campus.
Campus Life plays an integral role in Sage's mission of building a society of diverse, thoughtful and competent citizen-leaders who will continue to engage in the pursuit of lifelong learning.
The Campus Life staff provides programs, services, opportunities, and environments for students to become involved in educationally purposeful activities outside of the classroom. The program is intended to build responsible communities of learners and support the educational and personal development of each student, help students accomplish their educational goals, and prepare students to lead in finding solutions to major societal challenges.
Residence halls are available on both campuses.
- At Sage College of Albany, men and women can live on campus in the modern coed residence hall with primarily single and double rooms, or just next door in the independently owned, newly-built apartment building called University Heights College Suites, where students mingle with students from neighboring professional colleges.
- Russell Sage College offers traditional residence hall living for women, along with rooms for upper-class students in Victorian brownstones.
Visiting NAC&U students will be responsible for paying Sage room, board, and a $250 administrative fee.
