ACOTE’s telephone number c/o AOTA is (301) 652-AOTA and its Web address is www.acoteonline.org.
The most recent reaccredidation was granted in May 2007. Upon graduation, students are eligible to sit for the national certification exam that is administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). In addition, most states require licensure in order to practice occupational therapy; however state licenses are usually based on the results of the national certification exam. A felony conviction may affect a graduates ability to sit for the certification exam or to attain state licensure.
The Program's overall pass rate for the 2013 and 2014 time period was 100% (first-time test-takers and test-retakers). Program results from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) can be found online at https://secure.nbcot.org/data/schoolstats.aspx
For the 3 most recent graduating cohorts (entry into OT program 2011-2013) 91% of students progressed to graduation (95 of 104). While the majority of students enroll in the program full time, some choose a part time track. *Some of the students who entered the program part time in these years are still working toward their degrees.
