Forensic Mental Health

The 18-credit certificate in Forensic Mental Health is an excellent option for those who:

  • Already have a Baccalaureate or graduate degree in a discipline such as psychology, criminal justice, law, or social work, and who want to learn more about the field of Forensic Mental Health without pursuing a full 39-credit M.S. degree program 
  • Are working in the field of criminal justice or law and who want to learn more about the field of Forensic Mental Health to more effectively work with clients

  • While not working in the field, have an interest in issues related to mental
    health and criminal justice, and would like to gain basic knowledge about the discipline

PSY 575c Abnormal Psychology

FMH 515 Evaluation and Treatment of Adult Offenders

FMH 520 Evaluation and Treatment of Court-Involved Youth

FMH 527 Family Law OR FMH 599 Mental Health Law

FMH/PSY/Law elective, upon advisement
