Admission through Sage Graduate School

The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at The Sage Colleges will participate in the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service, known as PTCAS, beginning in July 2012. Applicants applying to the entry-level DPT program for the 2013 entering class will apply online using the PTCAS application. To learn more about the PTCAS application process, visit www.ptcas.org.

The PTCAS application portal for 2012-13 will open to applicants on July 2, 2012. Any materials sent to The Sage Colleges will not be able to be forwarded to PTCAS. The applicant will be responsible for submitting their complete applications to PTCAS.

 Articulation Applicants PLEASE NOTE: All applicants applying through one of our existing articulation agreements will need to apply using PTCAS. Therefore applicants will not be expected to use the June 1 deadline as previously stated on our website. Please check back to our Articulation Agreement Admission Page for specific instructions as they become available.

Qualified men and women who possess a baccalaureate degree and who have fulfilled the prerequisites for the Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program apply directly through the Sage Graduate School. Students who have not completed all of the prerequisites may be admitted on a provisional basis before completing the prerequisites. With pre-approval, students may complete outstanding prerequisites at Sage or at another institution. In addition to meeting the requirements for admission to Sage Graduate School and the DPT Program, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following criteria:

  1. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25 (on a 4.0 system)
  3. Minimum science grade point average of 3.25 (on a 4.0 system) in the required science courses (Anatomy & Physiology I and II w/labs, Chemistry I and II w/labs, Physics I and II w/labs, and Cellular Biology w/lab OR Microbiology w/lab.
  4. Completion of all prerequisite courses for the professional DPT Program with a grade of "C" or better in each required course. Students may be provisionally accepted into the DPT contingent upon successful completion of outstanding prerequisite courses.
  5. NEW: Completion of the application process through PTCAS (more information to follow on this as it becomes available.)
  6. Meet technical standards.
  7. Completion of at least 40 hours of clinical observation with a licensed physical therapist.
