Interning at Shaye Global this semester has been a wonderful opportunity. I started out thinking I wanted an internship in marketing. However, I stepped out of my comfort zone and explored the export business. This work-based experience has given me a better understanding of how important it is to understand and continue to study different cultures and languages in order to achieve a level of cultural fluency need for business success. I have networked with a wide range of professionals this semester each of whom has given me key insights about doing business on a global scale. I have learned the importance of accuracy and research. This internship not only provided me with knowledge in international business, but it also helped me to grow personally and realize that I have the ability to be successful. I discovered that I need a graduate degree to pursue my career in marketing so I am in the process of applying to grad school.
Gerald Shaye, Shaye Global, Internship Supervisor:
Ms. Drine demonstrated a mature and wholly professional attitude at all times. Her ability to perform international market research on behalf of several client firms was of high quality. She assimilated the tasks assigned and carried them out to my full satisfaction. She often presented excellent suggestions, which were taken into account, to improve processes.
