Working as an intern at Aflac was an experience that gave me the opportunity to gain Human Resource experience. The primary activities as a human resource intern included planning, recruiting & communicating through various channels such as email, websites, telephone, and social media. It quickly became evident how useful the lessons from my coursework at Sage, including organizational structure and industry language, were going to be during my internship at Aflac.
Specifically, I created a recruitment plan to ensure that candidates were selected based on the hiring criteria. One of the important lessons I learned was that just because something doesn't go as planned, you shouldn't give up hope or stop trying to achieve the goal. When I thought my internship was going to be cut short with only weeks left, new opportunities emerged. This experience gave me insight into how HR professionals work.

Auslene has been a pleasure to work with. Shortly after we committed to take Auslene as our intern, our Regional office received word that our State office was being reorganized. This required flexibility in Auslene's schedule and an ability to work independently from home. Her help in keeping up with time consuming office tasks allowed me to focus on the more pressing demands of the job. I would like to express our appreciation for the dedication and positive attitude Auslene demonstrated in working with our office. She will be an asset to any employer.
