Working as an intern at the Northwestern Mutual Financial Group was an experience that gave me a ‘test drive’ in an industry that is very busy and also where you can earn increasing income. I did all the work the 10-year veterans at the company did, including making phone calls, scheduling appointments, and bringing clients on board. The primary experience in all of this was seeing the entire process. This included: a) finding clients, b) watching the clients’ faces when they realized they weren’t making the best financial decisions even though they thought they were, c) helping the clients get from point A (which is the present) to point B (where they will be in retirement), and d) knowing I made a difference in their lives. This experience made me realize that this is what I wanted to do even after the internship was over.
This internship experience has truly been a life changer for me. I obtained my life, health and brokerage 10-55 license providing me with the appropriate credential to sell insurance. This company is great and I love the atmosphere. I received an offer to work for Northwestern Mutual Financial Group. I accepted the offer and started sales training on May 6th and officially start May 20th, two days after my graduation. Truly, I am lucky and look forward to the challenges ahead of me.

Mr. Hunt accomplished the goals we set forth for him and is enthusiastically pursuing a career with Northwestern Mutual after graduation from Sage College of Albany. We are thrilled to have Steve on board and look forward to helping him build a personal practice.
