Mission and Vision


The School of Management strives to educate undergraduate and graduate students to be confident, ethical leaders equipped to effectively manage the challenges of a changing world.  In close collaboration with the faculty, our students develop skills in communication, critical thinking, creativity, innovative problem solving and entrepreneurship.  These skills are supported by our faculty’s commitment to both knowledge generation and transfer in these areas with the ultimate intent of allowing the graduates from The School of Management to contribute broadly to culturally diverse communities. 

The Sage School of Management achieves its mission by:

  • supporting current outstanding faculty members while continuously searching for exceptional new faculty members who will be engines for continuing improvement in both the classroom and professionally.
  • fostering interdisciplinary programs of study.
  • serving as another institutional conduit for fund raising to invest in the technologies, information databases and modern facilities that are important in attracting the most competitive students and faculty members.   
  • engaging students with cutting edge pedagogy in the classroom and through service learning, experiential learning and external community- based interactions.


The School of Management will grow enrollments and resources to support our future recognition as the premier source of business and management education in the Capital Region.
