Nursing, BS for Registered Nurses
Program
The B.S. program for RNs is designed to serve working professionals who are already registered nurses or are eligible candidates for the National Examination for Licensure as Registered Professional Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Sage graduates assume leadership roles within organizations that influence home health care delivery; have a clear sense of the their role and are better prepared to serve as health advocates; and are better poised to serve as managers and educators in helping to aid in the national nursing shortage.
Building upon the registered nurses' knowledge and clinical experience, the program is geared at broadening horizons in collaborative and contemporary nursing practices, while at the same time developing leadership skills, increasing marketability and advancing career opportunities with a self-paced flexible format the accommodates the schedule of the busy adult.
Requirements
Based on 120 credits to complete the BS degree, the program requires completion of upper division nursing courses that build upon the student's associate degree nursing courses. The 60 credits of liberal arts courses that are required help provide a broader education for the student in the changing health care environment. With a minimum of 30 credits completed at the Sage College of Albany, students typically transfer in 36 - 54 credits from their associate degree program with 30 credits of those being nursing validated.
