Dietetic Internship FAQ

  1. Are GREs required for DI Program admission? No they are not required for the DI Program or for Sage Graduate School programs.
  2. What are the selection criteria for being accepted into the SGS DI? Review the Admission Procedures web page for more information.
  3. What is the minimum GPA required for acceptance? Minimum overall GPA 2.75 with minimum GPA of 3.0 in DPD related courses.
  4. Does the application process require an interview? Interviews are not required, although the DI Director either in person or via telephone may request an interview.
  5. Does an applicant have to apply to the graduate school? No, unless a master's degree is desired then students can apply simultaneously or separately to the graduate school.
  6. How much financial aid is available through the internship? Student who apply only to the DI are not eligible for any financial aid. Students matriculating in a graduate school program are eligible for graduate assistantships and student loans.   7. How will students be placed at the facilities? Do I have to secure the facilities and preceptors for where I want to do my internship? The DI Director is responsible for this activity. Refer to the Affiliate Institutions page for more information: Affiliates/ Preceptors.
  8. Do I have to write another essay for the graduate school or can I use the same letter I have for the dietetic internship application? The same letter/essay may be used for the DI and SGS applications. Review the Application Process for more information:
  9. What is the exact cost of the program overall? The cost varies depending on your living situation. Review the Tuition and Fees page for more information.
  10. I just read on the website that I am to include two copies of the application, essay, and recommendation letters. I have only one copy of each recommendation in signed envelopes. What should I do? Either request two additional copies be provided from each recommendation or send as is with only one copy. The application packet will be scored accordingly if it is not complete.   11. Is there a standard recommendation form that Sage uses or may I use the standard ADA form, when applying for the Dietetic Internship? Sage Graduate School Dietetic Internship uses the ADA standard recommendation form. Refer to Application and Appointment Process to access the form.
