Program Fee

The 2010-2011 program fee is currently $5900 (Subject to change prior to Sept. 2010). The Sage Colleges will bill you for the program fee on or about June 15, 2010. Payment is due on or about August 1, 2010. The 2010-2011 program fee includes the intern Handbook, name tag for rotations, some field trip expenses, seminar registration fees and hotel expenses when applicable. There will be NO refund of the program fee. Specific payment and refund policies are available in the Albany Campus Business Office, (518)-292-1781.

Tuition

The current Graduate School tuition is $590* per credit (15 DI graduate credits @ $590/credit=$8850.00). The Tuition Reimbursement Schedule for any courses dropped or withdrawn is found in The Sage Colleges Catalog.

Interns register for fall and spring semester courses (12 credits) in early summer and the summer session course (3 credits) in March. Registration is incomplete until you have either paid or arrange for payment of all financial obligations to Sage.

Insurance

Professional liability insurance must be purchased after June 1, 2009 yet prior to beginning the program. Further information is provided after acceptance. Students are responsible for acquiring their own appropriate medical insurance while participating in the internship. Full-time students (9 credits for graduate student) may purchase health insurance through The Sage Colleges. For information on this plan, contact the Office of Student Services at (518)244-2201.

ADAF Scholarships

Financial Aid

Students completing only the Dietetic Internship Certificate and NOT enrolled in an M.S. Degree program are NOT eligible for financial aid or student loans.

Prospective students are encouraged to determine their financial status and need prior to applying to the DI. The application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed as early as possible, preferably. It can be completed online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. The internship is a non-matriculated, non-degree program housed in the Sage Graduate School. Students participating in the DI program alone are NOT eligible for Financial Aid or student loans.

Interns must also be accepted by Sage Graduate School for one of the master's degree programs to qualify for either Federal and State aid or the Stafford Student Loans.

Due to the rigorous nature of the DI application process, anyone accepted/matched to the Sage Graduate School Dietetic Internship Program automatically meets the MS in Applied Nutrition admission requirements. A separate application and review process is NOT needed. However, applicants MUST complete and submit the first form, Application for Admission, of the Sage Graduate School Self-Managed Application. This may be submitted with the DI Application or any time prior to June 1st.

Payment plans for tuition are available. A limited number of Graduate Assistantships are also available.

Due to the non-matriculated aspect of the Dietetic Internship program, interns also may not receive deferment on payment of previous accrued student loans. Please consult your financial institution for details.

Miscellaneous

Additional expenses such as physical examination and immunizations, transportation and parking fees, professional liability and personal health insurance, a calculator, required reference books, thumb drives for presentations and poster sessions, computer disks/CD-ROMs, and a full length lab coat will be the responsibility of the student. Travel (gas, tolls and/or parking) to facilities within a 50 mile radius and for field trips must also be budgeted. Parking permits are required on campus. Some cooperating institutions may also charge a parking fee. Projected cost for these incidentals is $3000.00, plus personal health insurance fee and housing. Housing is available either on or off campus.

This internship participates in the Computer Matching Appointment process. There is a $50.00 fee for the computer matching.
