Sociology

The Sociology major provides an excellent foundation to become an Occupational Therapist. Sage has developed an innovative 3+2 program where students can complete their B.A. in Sociology and M.S. in Occupational Therapy in just over five years of academic coursework and fieldwork. Students who choose this program will have faculty advisors in both the Sociology and Occupational Therapy departments.

The sequence listed below begins with the courses freshman Sociology majors should take. *Please note: the courses with an asterisk can be taken in either the fall or spring semesters. In the event that a course you choose is closed you can modify your sequence by substituting one of the courses with an asterisk.

Courses that are highlighted meet the graduate OT Program course prerequisites.

To accelerate into the graduate OT Program in the fourth year, students must earn a minimum overall 3.0 GPA, complete the seven OT Program prerequisite courses with no less than a "C", and have completed all college major, general education and OT Program prerequisites by the end of the third year of coursework.
