Articulation Agreement - SGS + Hartwick College

Articulation Agreement between Hartwick College and Sage Graduate School Physical Therapy Program (1/10/08)

Hartwick College and The Sage Colleges have developed a collaborative agreement to provide qualified students from Hartwick College who wish to pursue a DPT in Physical Therapy (PT) from Sage Graduate School (SGS) guaranteed admission as indicated below. This collaborative agreement provides for:

  • Automatic acceptance into Sage Graduate School for students who have completed physical therapy program course prerequisites, after initial advisement and interview, and with completed application;
  • Waiver of Sage Graduate School application fee;
  • Early acceptance;
  • Advisement to coordinate undergraduate electives and coursework to reduce or eliminate prerequisites in the graduate program;
  • Opportunity to apply early for Graduate Assistantships in Sage Graduate School

Terms of the Agreement: Physical Therapy Admission
Hartwick College students who demonstrate the following will be guaranteed admission to Sage Graduate School for the DPT degree:

  1. Earned baccalaureate degree (or in progress)
  2. Minimum overall 3.0 GPA
  3. Minimum science GPA of 3.0 (Anatomy & Physiology I
    and II; Physics I & II; Chemistry I & II, Cell Biology)
  4. Completion of Physical Therapy Program prerequisite
    courses with grades of C or better (see prerequisite
    courses listed below)

To guarantee placement in the PT Program students agree to
submit the following information: By June 1 of the year preceding graduation from Hartwick College:

  1. Completed SGS application packet (fee waived)
  2. Official transcripts from all college institutions attended
  3. Current resume
  4. One letter of recommendation from the Hartwick College
    health advisor or equivalent faculty representative
  5. List of all outstanding prerequisite courses with an
    expected date of completion

By October 15 of the graduation year from Hartwick College:

  1. Clinical Observation Document: 40 hours of clinical
    observation with a physical therapist
  2. PT Admission interview; contact Marjane Selleck at

  3. Enrollment deposit of $50 (non-refundable, though to be applied toward graduate tuition)
  4. Academic Standards Statement

Upon graduation from Hartwick College:

  1. Official transcripts documenting completion of
    undergraduate degree and PT Program prerequisite
    courses
