4-Year College Articulation Agreements

Sage has developed partnership agreements with several 4-year colleges to guarantee admission to the Sage Doctor of Physical Therapy Program for qualified students. These agreements provide for:

  1. Automatic acceptance into DPT Program for students who have completed DPT Program course prerequisites, after initial advisement and interview, with completed application and evidence of academic eligibility;
  2. Waiver of Sage Graduate School application fee;
  3. Early acceptance (for students who submit applications prior to October 15 of their senior year);
  4. Advisement to coordinate undergraduate electives and coursework to address DPT Program prerequisites; and
  5. Opportunity to apply early for graduate assistantships.

Qualified students will:

  • Earn a baccalaureate degree prior to entering the DPT Program;
  • Maintain a minimum overall 3.0 GPA in their undergraduate programs and 3.0 GPA in the DPT Program pre-requisite science courses;
  • Complete an admission interview with PT Program faculty; and
  • Document completion of clinical observation hours under the supervision of a physical therapist.

Sage's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program has articulation agreements with the following 4-year colleges for students to fulfill their prerequisites* and receive their bachelor's degree.

*Some programs may require additional coursework in order to register for a PT prerequisite course.

Applicants With a Bachelor's Degree

Qualified men and women who possess a baccalaureate degree and who have fulfilled the prerequisites for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program apply directly through the Sage Graduate School. Students who have not completed all of the prerequisites may be admitted on a provisional basis before completing the prerequisites. With pre-approval, students may complete outstanding prerequisites at Sage or at another institution. In addition to meeting the requirements for admission to Sage Graduate School, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following criteria:

  1. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 system)
  3. Minimum science grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 system) in the required science courses.
  4. Completion of all prerequisite courses for the professional DPT Program with a grade of "C" or better in each required course. Students may be provisionally accepted into the DPT contingent upon successful completion of outstanding prerequisite courses.
  5. Documentation of at least 40 hours of physical therapy clinical observation using the Clinical Observation Document under the direction of a licensed physical therapist before beginning the professional program.
  6. Submission of Academic Standards Statement, Clinical Observation Document, Prerequisite Form, two letters of recommendation, a career goals essay, a resume, and transcripts from all college institutions attended with the application.
