Faculty | Bronna D. Romanoff
Bronna Romanoff is Professor of Psychology and director of the graduate programs in psychology. A licensed clinical psychologist and a member of the Sage faculty since 1991, Dr. Romanoff teaches graduate courses in abnormal psychology, forensic psychology, and bereavement counseling; she also teaches an interdisciplinary course in Palliative Care and Chronic Illness. In addition, she supervises the internship in Counseling and Community Psychology.
Dr. Romanoff received her BA in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Connecticut and her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University at Albany. She has done postdoctoral training in forensic psychology at the Program for Law and Psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Before coming to Sage, she worked as a clinical psychologist in residential and outpatient mental health and college counseling settings, and maintained a private psychotherapy practice with a special interest in bereavement counseling. She continues to practice counseling and psychotherapy in addition to her academic and administrative responsibilities.
Dr. Romanoff's clinical and research interests focus on bereavement as a culturally embedded practice, and on integrating contemplative practices in counseling, health care and criminal justice settings.
