Theatre Arts

This intensive one-week course will allow students to explore a career in the theatre arts. Students will learn about all aspects of theatre production from directing and acting to set and costume design. This is a full-day course that runs from July 28 - August 1. This course is limited to 16 students.

Instructor: David Baecker, Assistant Professor of Theatre, The Sage Colleges

David Baecker received his BA in acting from Washington University in St. Louis and his MFA in acting from Florida State University. A member of Actors' Equity Association, he has performed with Actors Theatre of Louisville, the Asolo Theatre Festival, New Noises, and the Seattle Fringe Festival. His recent acting credits include Man of La Mancha and Fiorello (director Patricia Birch), A Murder is Announced (Queens Theater in the Park), and Broken Glass.Since 1999, he has been on faculty at The Perry Mansfield Performing Arts School & Camp in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and created their London theatre program. David is an assistant professor of theater at Russell Sage College in Troy, New York, and his recent directing credits there include Stop Kiss, Nickel and Dimed, and a Capital-area reading of Stuff Happens.

Cost: $270.00

Lunch and supplies are included in the tuition for the program. A deposit is due at the time of registration (by June 20, 2008), with the balance due by June 27, 2008.
