Balancing Art and Technology, Aesthetics and Function, Harmony and Sustainability, Architect and Designer, Janus Welton is a bridge linking the contradictions, simplifying the complexities, and shaping a new Design sensibility for the 21st century combining Sustainability, Building Biology, and Classical Feng Shui into her 28-year career in Architecture, Interior Design, and Planning. Ms. Welton is President and Principal of EcoArch DesignWorks, PC.
Janus holds a B.F.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University and a M. Arch in Architecture specializing in Passive Solar Design from the University of Colorado @ Denver, as well as a Certification in Building Biology and Environmental Consulting from The International Institute of Building Biology and Ecology, and NASBAP Certification in Sustainable Building Advising, and is currently attaining L.E.E.D, AP status with the USGBC United States Green Building Council.

Ms Welton has taught Sustainable Design for over 8 years at various private Institutions including the Schools of Feng Shui in Manhattan and San Francisco, The HOLIS Institute in Manhattan, and most recently at SUNY Ulster teaching the CSBA/ NASBAP National Certification for Sustainable Building Advisors Program to Building Professionals.

Prior to starting her own firm, Ms. Welton was a Senior Designer for Walt Disney Imagineering, and Director of Concept Architecture for Sony Development in Los Angeles, where she also designed award winning Residential Communities at Vito Cetta - Randy Washington Group Architects and Planners in Santa Monica, CA.
Ms. Welton lectures at conferences internationally and has joined the full time faculty at Sage College of Albany as Assistant Professor and Interior Design Program Coordinator in 2008. She has produced several guidebooks on Holistic Architectural Design; notably Eco-Architecture: the Living Elements of Sustainable & Healthy Building Design and the Foundation of Conscious Architecture -The Union of Spirit and Form.
