Victorian Narrative Stereography, 1855-1910

Curated by Sage Assistant Professor Dr. Melody Davis, this show presents original stereoviews of the Victorian era, complete with lorgnette stereoviewers for viewing these comic and genre scenes in 3D. This teaching exhibition identifies main publishers, artists, and trends in European and American stereoviews of narrative scenes. A Victorian parlor will allow the visitor to experience the stereoview as it was seen 100 and more years ago, in a private setting with individualized stereoscopes.
