Fine Arts

The Fine Arts Degree at Sage is designed to encourage the exploration of a variety of approaches to imagery and media. This is accomplished through a solid foundation in traditional and experimental tools and concepts in drawing, painting, clay sculpture and printmaking.

PrintmakingStudents become proficient working with a variety of media while developing their own personal artistic language. The program culminates in a thesis exhibit through which the advanced student develops a self-critical framework.

The fine arts program develops both conceptual and technical skills, and features a faculty who are themselves practicing artists. The classes are small, allowing the faculty to give the students individual attention and guidance throughout the creative process. Field trips to galleries and museums supplement the classroom studio experience, as do lectures, demonstrations, and exhibits by visiting artists.
