GMD PosterThe B.F.A. program in Graphic + Media Design has been developed to prepare students to become complete designers equipped with skills in traditional graphic design, interactive design, motion design and illustration. At Sage, we recognize that to compete in today’s world, students need proficiency in a wide range of areas. Our program encourages students to think across traditional boundaries and create unique visual communication solutions with skill and confidence crucial for future success.

The mission of the Graphic + Media Design program at the Sage College of Albany is to thoroughly prepare future designers with fundamental design and critical thinking skills, technical competencies and a thorough understanding of design practices and methodologies.

Departmental expectations for all students include:

Our unique curricular structure prepares students in traditional graphic design, interactive design, motion design and image making. Students learn to become innovative, self-reliant critical thinkers. The spirit of the program is entrepreneurial in nature, with an emphasis on training designers to become tomorrow’s leaders in the design field. Sage College of Albany’s accreditation by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) assures graduates the industry-recognized standard for professional designers.  In addition, our American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA) student group provides opportunities for professional networking, growth and leadership on both a regional and national level.
