Illustration

The Illustration program provides students a foundation in the basic skills and techniques of visual problem solving. Students are presented with a wide variety of real-world projects incorporating the fields of editorial, advertising, children's book, and preproduction / storyboard illustration. The program combines fundamental drawing and design techniques with a strong digital component, preparing students to meet the demands of today's publishing industry.

The program is augmented by visiting artists, exhibitions in our own Opalka Gallery, and trips to museums and galleries in the region and beyond.
