Interior Design Laptop Requirements

All students that plan to enter the junior year of the BFA Program must have a laptop computer with AutoCAD ADT 2009 installed on it. It must be available to be used at home and in the studio.

The following are the recommended system requirements for operating Architectural Desktop:

• Intel Pentium4 1.4 GHz or later or AMD-K7 1.4 GHz or better.
• Microsoft Windows XP professional operating system.
• 512 MB RAM
• 30 GB HD
• 1024 x 768 VGA video display
• 4X CD-ROM drive
• Modem with Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0
• Wireless connection
• Cable lock and carrying case are recommended for security
• Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2007 installed.

Note: This is the industry standard software for professional interior designers and an essential tool for your career. You will be using it in several courses beyond the CAD sequence in your junior and senior year studio classes. Free AutoCAD software downloads are availble for download from theAutodesk website.
