Digital Print Lab

Offering wide-format digital printing services for The Sage Colleges.

Mission:

The Digital Printlab's mission is to provide wide-formal digital printing services to students and faculty of The Sage Colleges. The lab is equipped with printers producing high-end archival prints of gallery quality. Our sizing capabilities range from as small as an 8"x10", to our maximum of 43"x50' on a variety of media types.

General Procedure:

  1. Upload digital files to Printlab server or place CD in the box outside ADB 306
  2. Complete the order form and upload to Printlab server, or place in box

  3. Pay for and pick up your prints

The Print Lab's services are limited to the printing of your file. We do not mount or finish prints upon completion. Please make sure files are ready to print before uploading. We will print files "as is." Correct file set-up is the responsibility of the student or faculty member placing the order. Incorrect orders will not be processed.

Acceptable File Types:

  • Flattened Photoshop (.psd) files
  • Flattened Tiff files
  • Bitmapped EPS file

Note that we cannot currently handle postscript printing. All vector artwork must be rasterized and saved in one of the above formats. Files should be RGB, preferably created in ADOBE RGB (1998) color-space.

Turnaround:

Our Print Lab has a one-week turn around. The deadline for turning in your files is Monday Evenings, no later than 9pm. Prints will be available for pick-up on Friday, in the Fine Arts Art Office, located on the first floor of the Art & Design Building. Procedure for Ordering Prints:

You can either stop by the print lab and drop off your CD with your file and fill out an order form. There is a physical box outside of ADB 306. Or, you can fill out the order form online, and send both your file and order from to us via the Sage network.

To send us your order online you need to:

  1. Make sure you are on a Mac.
  2. Make sure you are on campus and connected to the Sage network.
  3. Connect to the Sage PrintLab Server.
  4. GO> Connect to Server> 5.17.2.227> Connect
  5. Log-in as guest
  6. Mount the printlab volume
  7. Browse to: public/drop-box
  8. Option-drag your file into drop box. You will get a warning that says you will not able to see inside the folder. Click okay. (Note: you must hold down the option key when dragging your file or else you risk losing your file.)
  9. Complete your order form and place in drop-box

Pricing:

Pricing is determined by size and media type. Note that these prices are HEAVILY discounted, and can only be offered to CURRENT students and faculty of the SAGE colleges.
