High School Visits
Alumnae/i are encouraged to visit local high school guidance offices 1) to deliver materials (perhaps excess materials from a college fair), to provide the guidance staff with a firsthand account of your experience as a student and to offer to speak to any students interested in attending a Sage college.
Arranging a Visit
- It is recommended that you call the guidance office in advance and give them your name, say you are an alumna of Sage and that you would like to stop by to update their materials. The guidance secretary may give you a specific time or invite you to come any time they are open. Note: Many schools now require visitors to register at the main office and wear a visitors identification badge.
Visiting the Guidance Office
- You may be offered the chance to speak with a guidance counselor of staff member. This person may complete a fact sheet for their files and to share with other school counselors. You are not expected to have all the answers. If you are unsure, please offer to get the information from the Office of Admissions, or encourage them to contact Sage directly.
- Write your name and telephone number on the catalog (or staple a business card to the catalog), if you wish to be a local resource for the college.
- Leave current materials, including viewbooks specifically for students who have already expressed an interest in a Sage college. The Office of Admission can provide you with a list of these students in advance of your visit. (It takes about one week to generate a list.)
After the visit please provide feedback to the Director for Alumnae Admissions about the high school(s) you visit.
