Dr. Steven Leibo Provides Live Televised Commentary For President Obama's 3rd Capital Region Visit
Dr. Steven Leibo, professor of modern international history and politics at The Sage Colleges, was invited to provide live in-depth coverage of President Barack Obama's 3rd visit to the Capital Region in as many years on May 8, 2012.
Leibo appeared live with News10 ABC (WTEN) anchor Lydia Kuldbida during the President's visit to the University at Albany's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering. Following the President's live televised speech, Leibo provided viewers with expert analysis of the issues and related implications both locally and globally.
A former Fulbright scholar, Leibo is a frequent international political analyst for local television, radio and print and has served as an international affairs commentator for WAMC North Eastern Public Radio since 1997. He grew up in California’s Silicon Valley and attended the same high school as Steven Jobs and Steven Wozniack.
An expert on climate change and personally trained by Al Gore to present climate-themed presentations, Leibo has a broad range of expertise and teaches classes on climate change, globalization, modern China, North Korea, Iran, and more. He has traveled extensively throughout the world.

Russell Sage College professor provides on-air commentary during President Obama's second historic visit to the Capital Region in less than two years
Dr. Steven Leibo, professor of modern international history and politics, provided commentary on President Obama’s visit to the Capital Region on Friday, January 21, 2011 between 12 – 2 p.m. on News 10 WTEN.

Sage students and staff were invited to view coverage of the presidential visit live on the digital screens:
- Troy: McKinstry Dining Hall and Buchman Pavilion
- Albany: Hazel’s Café (the screen in Kahl Campus Center is temporarily unavailable due to construction of the new dining area)
News 10 WTEN provided live, continuous coverage of this historic presidential visit beginning with the landing of Air Force One at Albany International Airport beginning at noon. President Obama was scheduled to deliver a televised address from GE in Schenectady at about 1:00 p.m. Leibo and WTEN news anchor Lydia Kulbida provided commentary, analysis and perspective live from the studio.
This was President Obama's second visit to the Capital Region in less than two years, and Leibo’s second time providing commentary.
