Preventing Childhood Obesity: Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities!
The Sage Colleges in partnership with the Capital District YMCA created an educational program and panel presentation to address the complex issues associated with preventing childhood obesity. The panel, moderated by WNYT NewsChannel 13 meteorologist Tim Drawbridge, included experts from both Sage and the YMCA addressing nutrition, psychology, exercise and social aspects related to childhood obesity.

Healthy Living Activities tables were hosted by The Sage Colleges and the YMCA. Activities and snacks were provided by the Honest Weight Food Co-op from their Ready, Set, Grow program.
This well attended event was free and open to the public.
Healthy Recipes for Healthy Living!
On June 5 and 19, 2010, students from The Sage Colleges' nutrition department offered free demonstrations, recipes and information for healthy eating at Honest Weight Food Co-op in Albany.

Healthy Summer Recipes for Kids!
Throughout June 2010, students and faculty from The Sage Colleges' nutrition department promoted healthy eating for children, as well as for their families, at various Price Chopper locations throughout the Capital Region. In addition to managing food demonstration tables and offering delicious healthy snacks, members of the Sage community also distributed information designed to promote healthy eating for kids.

These events were free and available to all.
