The Sage Colleges seek an Assistant Athletic Director/Head Coach Men's Basketball beginning August 1, 2008. Responsibilities of this full-time, administrative position include oversight for all phases of the Men's Basketball program. Primary responsibilities include attracting, recruiting and retention of student-athletes who fit the educational mission of The Sage Colleges.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred. The successful candidate will be a highly organized individual with strong writing and verbal skills, previous college playing and coaching experience, recruitment experience, and a demonstrated commitment to NCAA Division III philosophy.
Salary dependent on qualifications and experience; generous benefits package includes tuition waiver for employee and spouse at Sage After Work or Sage Graduate School; tuition waiver for dependent children at Russell Sage College, Sage College of Albany, or Sage After Work. Assistant Athletic Director
Head Coach Men’s Basketball
The Sage Colleges
Position: 10 month administrative position report to the Director of Athletics and Recreation. Supervises the following employees: Assistant basketball coach(es) and student workers for game management and sports information.
Duties: Oversight for all phases of the Men’s Basketball program. Primary responsibilities include attracting, recruiting and retaining student-athletes who fit the educational mission of The Sage Colleges. As Assistant Athletic Director, duties include serving as the Compliance Coordinator and assisting with home event management for fall and spring seasons.
Specific administrative responsibilities include:
• Assisting with daily administrative duties for Athletics and Recreation at SCA
• Serve as Compliance Coordinator for Athletics
• Assist with Home Event management during fall and spring sports.
• Assist with Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
Specific coaching responsibilities include:
• Practice and game preparation
• Game day management (facilities/team needs), coaching and travel
• Recruitment efforts including travel, written and verbal communication and scouting
• Planning and maintaining team budget
• Supervision of support staff
• Training, practice development and organization
• Compliance with NCAA and conference legislation
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics & Recreation
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; highly organized individual with strong writing and verbal skills; previous college playing or coaching experience required; experience in recruiting preferred; demonstrated commitment to NCAA Division III philosophy. This is a 10-month position with the opportunity to earn additional income directing summer camps.
