DIRECTOR OF THE WELLNESS CENTER:
HEALTH AND COUNSELING PROGRAMS

The Sage Colleges seeks a full time (10 month) Director for The Wellness Centers on the Troy and Albany campuses. Responsibilities of this administrative position include oversight of all aspects of health and counseling related services for students attending the Sage Colleges.

Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D or Psy.D in Clinical or Counseling psychology or related field with two years supervisory experience in a clinical setting.

This is a 10 month position requiring a Ph.D or Psy.D in the mental health field. The director oversees all aspects of two college campus wellness centers and shares some responsibility in direct counseling of students. The qualified candidate will have extensive experience in clinical counseling and supervision of other professionals and experience in college health setting is preferred.

Responsibilities of the Director
Coordination
Provide leadership for developing a wellness model of physical, psychological and preventative care for students. Oversee the counseling and health services operations on the Albany and Troy campuses of the Sage Colleges. Work collaboratively with appropriate departments and coordinate the planning and implementation of health promotion programming.

Direct Service
Provide confidential, individual or group counseling to students regarding personal problems and mental health issues.
Evaluate and refer students to appropriate community based services.
Develop and lead workshops, residence life trainings, and other campus life programs
Respond to requests for presentations and/or workshops for various student groups
Consult and provide leadership in the handling of psychological crises on campus
Evaluate and refer any member of the college community regarding personal, psychological or substance abuse problems.

Outreach and Publicity
Arrange for the design and distribution of materials describing Wellness Center services
Write articles and suggest mental health related topics for campus publications
Prepare educational outreach materials that relate to emergencies or direct service
Coordinate various programs for faculty and staff on issues related to Wellness and mental health concerns.

Supervision and Training
Oversee all aspects of the Wellness Centers
Supervise all counseling and health related professionals
Supervise 2 administrative assistants
Oversee and supervise all graduate interns
Participate and/or lead the training of all paraprofessional staff as requested.

Administrative
Coordinate the operations of the Wellness centers including maintaining all procedure manuals
Participate in all Campus Life leadership meetings
Report to and and make budgetary requests of the Dean of Campus Life
Ensure College compliance with all federal state local or professional regulations and guidelines in areas of health, counseling and wellness
Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Campus Life, including participation in various committees.

Position Requirements: Ph.D. or Psy.D required with at least two years of experience supervising in a clinical setting, experience working on a college campus preferred. Flexibility and student centered perspective as well as a sense of humor needed. Proven ability to work with diverse constituents in a collaborative way. Revised 4/08
