The Sage Colleges seek a Head Coach Men's Volleyball beginning August 1, 2008. Responsibilities of this part-time, 10 month position include oversight for all phases of the Men's Volleyball program. Primary responsibilities include attracting, recruiting and retention of student-athletes who fit the educational mission of The Sage Colleges.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred. The successful candidate will be a highly organized individual with strong writing and verbal skills, previous or coaching experience, and a demonstrated commitment to NCAA Division III philosophy; with experience in recruitment preferred.

Salary dependent on qualifications and experience. Candidates from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply.

The Sage Colleges include Russell Sage College for Women in Troy, NY, and the coeducational Sage Graduate School and Sage College of Albany.

Position: 10 month, part-time appointment reporting to Director of Athletics & Recreation. Supervises the following employees: Assistant volleyball coach(es) and student workers for game management.

Duties: Oversight for all phases of the Men’s Volleyball program. Primary responsibilities include attracting, recruiting and retention of student-athletes who fit the educational mission of The Sage Colleges.

Specific coaching responsibilities include:
• Practice and game preparation
• Game day management (facilities/team needs, coaching and travel
• Recruitment efforts including travel, written and verbal communication and scouting
• Planning and maintaining team budget
• Supervision of support staff
• Training, practice development and organization
• Directing the elevation of Men’s Volleyball from club status to NCAA Division III competition
• Compliance with NCAA and conference legislation
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics & Recreation

Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; highly organized individual with strong writing and verbal skills; previous college playing or coaching experience required; experience in recruiting preferred, demonstrated commitment to NCAA Division III philosophy.
