Instructional Technologist/Instructional Designer

The Sage Colleges seek an Instructional Technologist/Instructional Designer. Responsibilities of this full-time, 12 month administrative position include:

  • Provide one-on-one and/or small group instruction for faculty (at various skill levels) on how to maximize the use of available instructional technologies, such as the Moodle course management system, Mahara ePortfolio system, iTunesU, Web 2.0 and other classroom technologies.
  • Works with the VPAP and VPAA and consults with faculty to create and implement a plan for the expansion of classroom technology to support curricular needs and strategic goals.
  • Works with the VPAA and consults with faculty to create and implement a plan for the identifying and maintaining quality standards for online and blended learning environments.
  • Creates and disseminates print and electronic communications focusing on instructional technology.
  • Stays abreast of Web 2.0 (voice threads, flickr, blogs, wikis, etc. ) and emerging technologies, evaluates their potential usefulness at Sage, and instructs faculty and others in their use.
  • Works with the Director of Libraries and Director of Information Technology Services to foster further integration of IT with library services, particularly as they apply to curricular support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree and experience with instructional technology support.

Preferred Qualifications: Degree in instructional design, or related field; experience in developing software workshops for adult learners; experience with a course management system, skilled in all Microsoft Office applications at the advanced level; Experience with Web 2.0 tools and classroom technology, such as smartboards, Camtasia, Impatica, web conferencing software, etc. This individual will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical staff and end users.
