The Sage Colleges seeks a full time Resident Director for the Russell Sage College for Women. Responsibilities of this 12 month, full time administrative position include oversight of all aspects of on-campus residence halls, supervision of student Resident Assistants, programming, and on-call rotation.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field (masters preferred) with 2-3 years post-undergraduate experience (firm) in residence life and student development.

Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience; generous benefits package includes on campus apartment and meal plan plus tuition waiver for employee and spouse at Sage After Work or Sage Graduate School; tuition waiver for dependent children at Russell Sage College, Sage College of Albany, or Sage After Work. Position: The Resident Director administers all operations of the Russell Sage College for Women Campus Residence Halls. This individual is responsible to the Associate Director of Residence Life and the Director of Residence Life. This is a full-time, live-in 12 month administrative position. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:
• Administer the overall operation of the Russell Sage Campus Residence Halls.
• Supervise resident assistants (13) assigned to these residence halls.
• Coordinate with Maintenance department for repairs and custodial issues in residence halls.
• Establish inclusive and vital living learning communities that promote personal growth and integrate classroom learning with residence programs and out of classroom experiences.
• Ensure the coordination of various programs and activities in the residence halls.
• Assist in the selection and training of resident assistants.
• Educate students about college policies and procedures and ensure the fair, consistent enforcement of disciplinary matters.
• Adjudicate incidents of minor and major misconduct.
• Assume “on-call” responsibilities each semester, including summer.
• Provide support and guidance to students utilizing counseling and referrals.
• Participate in various first year programs, such as mentor training and orientation.
• Conduct evaluations and needs assessment regarding first year students and make recommendations to the Director of Residence Life.
• Coordinate general office duties such as key distribution, mail distribution, roommate dispute resolution, etc.
• Supervise student Front Desk workers at various residence halls
• Maintain regular, frequent communication with the Director and staff of Residence Life.
• Summer assignments as scheduled, including working with the Conferences department
• Attend weekly Residence Life staff meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director and Associate Director of Residence Life.
