Adjunct Professor of Forensic Mental Health

The Sage Colleges seek an Adjunct Professor of Forensic Mental to teach Introduction to Forensic Mental Health in Fall 2008. This course is the introductory course in the Sage MS in Forensic Mental Health program, which is offered on our Albany campus.

Course description: FMH-505 Intro to Forensic Mental Health This course examines the forensic mental health system, the professionals within this system, and its consumers, or person with mental disorders who also have legal troubles. Students will be introduced to the pathways for person with mental disorders into and out of the criminal justice, mental health, social service, and juvenile justice systems. An overview of policies and outcomes of the FMH systems is also examined.

The program is offered by the Sociology and Criminal Justice Department and the Psychology Department.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Sociology, or related field. The successful candidate will have knowledge of the forensic mental health system, the professionals within this system, and adult and juvenile consumers with mental disorders and criminal justice or juvenile justice system involvement. Applicants familiar with online course delivery platforms are preferred.
