Assistant Professor, Communications & Information Design

The Department of Communications and Information Design at The Sage Colleges invites applicants to join a collegial and dynamic faculty as assistant professor for the fall 2008 semester. The full-time position includes responsibilities for teaching, service, and scholarship.

We seek an interdisciplinary-minded colleague who can teach across the Communications curriculum and who has expertise in both communications theory and practice, with emphasis on public relations and integrated marketing communication, and writing and production skills for multimedia, mass media, and new media. An earned doctorate is strongly desired. Applicants with previous teaching experience, supplemented by professional industry experience, will be given preference.

The Information Design program at the Sage College of Albany -- an interdisciplinary professional studies program encompassing communications, management, fine arts, graphic design, multimedia, and computer science -- is the only one of its kind in the region.

The Communications program at Russell Sage College for Women in Troy is an interdisciplinary liberal arts program stressing communications theory and practice, with emphasis on public relations and integrated marketing communication, leadership and management, and multimedia technology skills.
