Assistant/Associate Professor, Educational Leadership

The School of Education at The Sage Colleges invites applications for a full time faculty position in the Educational Leadership Program for current and aspiring system leaders. The position requires that candidates have:

  • an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership or a related area such as Curriculum and Instruction,
  • School District Administrator (SDA) certification or its equivalent,
  • previous experience teaching at the doctoral level in educational leadership programs, a record of scholarship and of service in doctoral advisement.

A record of grant funded research, accomplishment as a school district leader, and leadership within community, state and national associations is desirable. Candidates must subscribe to the conceptual framework of the Sage Colleges’ School of Education, which relies on best practices, reflective teaching and leading practice, full inclusion and appreciation of diversity. Position: This faculty position will join a small faculty team for a recently approved Doctor of Education cohort program with an innovative research design and a balance of on site and distance learning instruction. The individual will provide the leadership for research component of the program. These courses will constitute the primary teaching responsibility for this position. Collaboration with program faculty as advisor to implement each candidate’s Individual Leadership Plan and to identify research problems is also required. The research design requires the development of supportive partnerships with participating school districts and their senior district leaders. In this design, candidates will function as members of a research team to examine a significant problem of practice in a partnership district(s), agency or organization. Individual research components will be the result of working closely with team members, faculty advisors, executive coaches, committee members, and district or agency leaders. The successful individual will participate in program review and various accreditation activities as required by the program director and the Dean of the School of Education.
