The Office of Corporate, Government and Foundation Relations assists foundations and corporations in creating strategic partnerships with The Sage Colleges.
The OCGFR seeks funding in support of:
- Our Students
Scholarship and fellowship support provides critical funding for students in need. This support ensures the recruitment of top undergraduate and graduate students.
- Our Faculty
Vital resources are needed for the recruitment and retention of word-class faculty. Faculty support includes funding for research, teaching awards, as well as endowed chairs and professorships.
- Our Capital
A resourced facility ensures quality education. The Sage Colleges' commitment to the ongoing enhancement to our Troy brownstones, our campuses, our libraries, arts centers, and technology, all require significant capital investment.
- Our Programs
Creating and implementing innovative programs and research that enhance the delivery of our curriculum is a true investment in the future. The Sage College's legacy is the teaching of practical arts in a liberal arts setting.
- Our Outreach
Sage engages with the community through a wide array of programs including community and school outreach, health clinics, arts programs, public programs and more.
Ways to Give:
- Restricted Gifts
The Sage Colleges accepts outright gifts and ensures a strict adherence to foundation and corporate guidelines or grant contracts. Restricted gifts support program or project specific opportunities.
- Unrestricted Gifts:
When a gift is not restricted to a specific purpose or project; the College gains fiscal flexibility. Unrestricted gifts from foundations and corporations supplement our Annual Fund and help to meet critical changing needs not covered by most traditional grants or restricted awards.
The Sage Colleges accept gifts-in-kind for new computer hardware, software licenses, peripherals and excess machinery. These donations increase the visibility of a company's products and services while benefiting students who gain experience with state-of-the-art products.
- Gifts of Endowment
Endowments, which typically bear the name of the donor or the donor's designee can provide valuable support for undergraduate scholarships, graduate fellowships, teaching awards or remain unrestricted for use in the highest needs of the campus or designated school or department.
Creating an endowed scholarship or a scholarship fund is an effective means to support The Sage Colleges. The Sage Colleges Corporate Connections program allows area businesses to make moderate annual contributions in support of scholarships.
- Matching Gifts
Corporations and foundations have demonstrated their support for The Sage Colleges by matching, or multiplying their employee's gifts to Sage. The corporate matching portion of the gift is credited to the same program as the employee donation.
