Schacht Fine Arts Center

Excite, Inspire and Involve

The Schacht Fine Arts Center at The Sage Colleges is home to an inspirational theatre.

For nearly three decades, the New York State Theatre Institute (NYSTI) has mounted award-winning theatre for family audiences.

It is one of region's premier platforms for young performers and for community and cultural outreach through its extensive educational programs.

The 1,100-seat facility was built in 1968 to house Sage's performing arts program and theatrical productions, as well as serve as an auditorium for College events such as convocation and Commencement. Sage broadened its use of Schacht in 1992, when the facility became home to NYSTI.

Schacht hosts NYSTI's annual season of productions, and is the production house for the Institute's traveling show, and venue for the acclaimed summer theatre program.

Today, this unique resource is in need of your help. A recent study of Schacht identified over $4 million in needed renovations. These vital improvements to stage and sound systems, handicapped accessibility, audience seating, and reception space will elevate 1960s-era features to
contemporary standards.

Your contribution to the Schacht Renovation project will help improve one of the area's best performing arts organizations as it enters its third decade of inspiring and serving the Capital Region.
