The School of Management at The Sage Colleges invites applicants for a full-time, tenure track position as assistant professor of accounting to begin Spring 2015. A Fall 2015 would also be considered.
This nine-month faculty appointment has responsibilities for scholarship, teaching and service. The School offers undergraduate degrees in accounting and business, and master’s degrees in MBA, Organization Management and Health Services Administration. Faculty are expected to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate or have one at the time of appointment. The School seeks an interdisciplinary-minded colleague with a specialization in accounting, but who can teach additional management courses. A research interest in accounting issues related to fraud and forensics would be helpful. Preference will be given to applicants with CPA certification, previous college-level teaching experience, particularly when supplemented by professional industry experience and an established research agenda.
The Sage Colleges, located in the Tech Valley/ Capital Region of New York State, include Russell Sage College for Women, the coeducational Sage College of Albany, and Sage’s other graduate schools, Education and Health Sciences. New York’s Capital Region, located between the beautiful Adirondack and Catskill mountains, has a rich cultural and educational environment, as well as endless outdoor recreation year round. Boston, Montreal, and New York City are within easy access to the Capital Region.
