The Department of Physical Therapy at The Sage Colleges invites applications for a 10-month, full-time faculty position at a rank commensurate with experience (Assistant or Associate Professor) within the CAPTE-accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy program effective August 2014.Opportunities for mentorship in departmental administration are available. Appointment may be tenure track or non-tenure track (Professor of Practice). The department is one of six (Forensic Mental Health, Nursing, Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Psychology) in the School of Health Sciences.
Faculty are expected to maintain high quality teaching and university/professional service. Tenure track faculty members are expected to have a productive research agenda. Opportunities exist for clinical research and teaching in adult neurology and geriatrics. Clinical practice is encouraged and supported.
The successful candidate will possess a doctoral degree and be eligible for physical therapy licensure in NY. Preference will be given to applicants with a post-professional academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc), those who have a minimum of three years of clinical experience related to teaching, and a clinical specialty certification in neurology or geriatrics. A record of prior teaching experience, scholarly productivity, and professional service will enhance the candidate’s application.
