2010 marks the 200th anniversary of the births of both Frdric Chopin and Robert Schumann, two towering innovators in Romantic-era composition. Regarded as two of the leading composers of the Romantic period of the 19th century, Chopin and Schumann were born just a few months apart in 1810. The program will feature piano and vocal performances by Sage Faculty Michael Musial, Barbara Musial, Kara Cornell and Russell Sage student Sarah Bitley, 11. Schumanns Op. 2 Papillons, Frauen Lieben und Leben, as well as Chopins Op. 66 Fantaisie- Impromptu, Op. 53 Polonaise and other selections.
