Half the SkyThe Sage Colleges in partnership with WMHT present Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide. The documentary tells the stories of inspiring, courageous individuals from around the world and their journeys to confront the oppression of women and create opportunity for change.

Moderated by Elaine Houston, Today’s Women/Education Reporter, WNYT-TV News Channel 13.

All over the world women are seizing the opportunity to confront oppression and to seek meaningful solutions through healthcare, education, and economic empowerment for women and girls. The linked problems of sex trafficking and forced prostitution, gender-based violence, and maternal mortality – which needlessly claim one woman every 90 seconds – present to us the single most vital opportunity of our time: the opportunity to make change.

Free and open to the public
