Celebrated Trinidad-born arts practitioner and educator Dr. Joanne Kilgour Dowdy has written nine books, which tackle women’s issues, empowerment and the Caribbean and pan-African people. Her latest work, Artful Stories: The Teacher, the Student and the Muse, is an exploration of the role of the artist and the relationship that evolves between the teacher and the student. Kilgour-Dowdy studied drama at the Boston Conservatory of Music, Dance, and Drama and Julliard.
