The Theatre Institute at Sage will host a special audience talkback following this Sunday’s matinee performance of "Romeo and Juliet." Lary Opitz, artistic director of Saratoga Shakespeare Company and professor of theatre at Skidmore College will lead the discussion. Opitz has acted in and directed many Shakespeare productions, including “The Merchant of Venice,” “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” “Hamlet” and “Romeo and Juliet.”

The Sage Colleges to Dedicate Centennial Sculpture as Part of Sage College of Albany Alumni FestivitiesApril 13, 2016 at 2:25 pm
The Sage Colleges will kick off its Centennial Alumni Weekend for Sage College of Albany alumni on Friday, April 15, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. with a Centennial sculpture dedication for its Albany campus. A sculpture on the Russell Sage College campus will be unveiled later this year. More than 200 alumni from the Sage College of Albany, Sage Graduate Schools as well as the former Sage Junior College of Albany and Sage Evening College are expected for the alumni weekend. In addition to the sculpture dedication on the Albany campus, festivities will include welcome remarks from Sage President Susan C. Scrimshaw, a brick dedication, alumni athletic events, and a Sage Sips reception in the Armory at Sage.

The Sage Colleges will hold a mock election on both its Sage College of Albany campus and Russell Sage College campus on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mock polling stations will be set up in the campus centers of both campuses for students to cast their ballots. An analysis and comparison of the voting on each campus will be conducted as part of a research project by students and the Sage Votes committee. The mock is election is an opportunity to educate students about the importance of voting and introduce students who have never voted before to the election process.

The performance will begin at 7 p.m. in Bush Memorial Center. In this moving and entertaining evening of song, performer Amy Oestreicher weaves her near death experience and unique personal story with an eclectic set of songs, highlighting the disappointments, struggles, triumphs and humor in her life.
