More than 70 Middle and High School students from the Brunswick/Brittonkill and Schodack Central School Districts will visit Russell Sage College on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 as part of a Sage program which encourages student participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning activities. Students will conduct several experiments, attend a panel discussion with professionals in the STEM field and speak with Sage students about their STEM career paths.

President of The Sage Colleges Susan C. Scrimshaw has been appointed Co-chair of the Institute of Medicine’s Global Forum on Innovation in Health Professional Education (IHPE). Scrimshaw will co-chair her first meeting of the Forum on April 22 in Washington D.C. at the National Academy of Sciences. Following the meeting, the Forum will sponsor a workshop at the Academy on “Envisioning the Future of Health Professions in Education” April 23 and 24.

The Sage Colleges will host its third annual "Best Practices in Autism Intervention" conference on Saturday, April 18 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in room 224 of Kahl campus center on the Albany campus located at 140 New Scotland Avenue. This year’s theme is “The Forgotten Curriculum: Sexuality and Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).”

The Opalka Gallery on the Sage College of Albany campus will host a free screening of the film “16 Photographs at Ohrdruf” on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. The screening coincides with Holocaust Remembrance Day and director and filmmaker Matthew Nash will be present to answer questions following the film.

The Sage Colleges will host Marsha Lester, Ph.D., professor of Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in Bush Memorial Center on its Russell Sage campus in Troy. Lester will deliver the 2015 Grace VanDerVoort Lecture: "A New View on Tropospheric Chemistry of Alkenes."

The Sage Colleges welcomes Laura Grabel, Ph.D., to its Russell Sage campus on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Grabel, the Lauren B. Dachs Chair of Science and Society at Wesleyan University, will deliver the 33rd Geneva Sayre Lecture at 5 p.m. in Bush Memorial Center. She will address the stem cell debate in her lecture "Towards Embryonic Stem Cell-based Therapies: Progress and Pitfalls."
