Q & A with Grant Imahara from the Discovery Channel's MythBusters

Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges are pleased to welcome Grant Imahara, one of the hosts of MythBusters, the popular Discovery Channel show that uses unique scientific methods to debunk or prove myths and legends.

President Barack Obama will make a guest appearance on an upcoming episode, which will focus on the “Archimedes Death Ray," the legendary weapon used by the Greek mathematician to destroy enemy ships. MythBusters has tackled everything from how prisoners escaped from Alcatraz, to the effects of coffee on the intoxicated, the possibility of mind control and how to unlock a car door using a tennis ball.

Grant Imahara is the show’s electronics and radio – control specialist. The former animatronics engineer has worked on a number of movies, including: The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Star Wars: Episode 1, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and two of the three Matrix films. He’s also the author of Kickin’ Bot: An Illustrated Guide to Building Combat Robots. He’s even built his own robot, Deadblow, which is a former BattleBot champion.
